Degreasing and Cleaning

Water based degreasers and cleansing agents are steadily replacing traditional solvent based formulations, with increasing pressure due to environmental concerns this trend is sure to continue.

The main technique available for reducing corrosion is to eliminate the electrolyte, either by:
- Drying out the environment; e.g. reducing the humidity to below 35% can virtually eliminate corrosion of mild steel.
- Providing a barrier between the metal and the electrolyte by passivating or providing a protective anti-corrosion coating.
